Sony 42 Plasma PFM 42B1 TV: Some flaws may make you want to pass

The Sony 42 plasma PFM 42B1 42 is HDTV-ready and brings a simple design with a great picture. This 42 inch tv offer some nice features, but also comes with some concerns that should be considered before buying.

This Sony model has a simple design that allows it to be hung either vertical or horizontal on a wall. It has excellent brightness and contrast. The images produced are sharp and rich. With its anti-reflection glass it is easy to view from any angle. The PFM 42B1 offers a choice of a plasma tv that is focused on looking good.

As with most Sony models this plasma tv offers a crystal clear picture. Unfortunately, users have voiced some problems with it. Even though it is a simple, thin design and ultimately meant to be hung on a wall, the hanging fixtures need to be bought separately.

It is also heavy compared to other models which makes it a bit hard to hang by one person. It also runs rather noisy, but once the surround sound is hooked up it is not noticeable. There are not as many inputs as offered on other models. The Sony ability to make an enjoyable picture lives up in this model, but the concerns may cause you to rethink buying it.

Sony has made a 42 inch plasma tv that lives up to the expected picture quality they usually offer. However, sometimes picture quality is not enough to make someone buy. The concerns about weight, noise and inputs could mean Sony missed the boat on this one. If you are willing to overlook a few minor problems to get a magnificent picture then this may be the model for you.
