Sharp Aqous Flat Screen TV LC30HV6U 30in Review
If you’re ready to upgrade to one of the new LCD televisions, you can’t go wrong with the Sharp Aquos flat screen tv LC-30HV6U 30in HDTV Ready Television. This is one of the most popular LCD models that sharp makes, and it is a great buy at about $2200.
Of course, input is everything with this type of television, and this model is no different. Digital input (like HDTV or digital cable) is much crisper and clearer, while analog inputs like regular cable are a little less defined. However, the “Smart Stretch” mode optimizes picture quality from cable. The two other modes, normal and zoom, can be used for different applications, and a little experimentation will show you which mode you’ll prefer for which type of input.
Set up is easy, and the unit’s size makes it easy to manipulate and install. The AVC box is an extra piece, about the size of a VCR, and some consumers find it annoying. The attractiveness of the monitor itself makes up for this.
There is a light detection mechanism in the unit that can adjust the picture contrast and brightness to the room lighting. I like this feature and allow it to adjust the television for the changing light in my living room.
The sound system on this unit is excellent. Sound quality is superb even without additional speakers from you home theater system, but adding audio equipment makes this unit especially enjoyable for the audio buff.
All in all, if you’re into LCD, you can’t beat Sharp. They are dedicated to this type of television, and they do it very well at an affordable price. You won’t be sorry you got this model!
