JVC Flat Screen TV GD-V500PZU 50in Review

The new JVC flat screen TV GD-V500PZU is one of the newest of JVC’s high performance plasma monitors. This large, stylish 50” display monitor has a great high resolution screen-1366 x 768 pixels. The exceptional contrast ration of 3000:1 guarantees a fantastic, bright, colorful picture. I’ve never wanted to use the term “crystal clear” with a plasma set before, but in this case, it’s true.

This unit is XGA compatible, so it handles higher resolution graphic applications well. Great for computer and video applications, as well as television and DVD’s. You will need a HDTV receiver to get high definition television signals, but the unit is HDTV ready, so jump right in. It accepts any standard television signal and most of the DTV signals.

Since it works well in strongly lighted areas, the unit is ideal for convention, promotions, exhibition applications. The great quality of JVC ensures that this unit will last for years, whether used in the home or business settings.

JVC has added a pixel shift/white background reverse mode to the unit that is said to make image burns a think of the past. There hasn’t been any problem with our unit, so I think that it must be working.

The external speakers rated at 16 watts are adequate, but the unit really sounded great when we hooked it up to our home theater system. Consider additional speakers for that true “in-theater” sound.

JVC makes a quality product, and the GD-V500PZU is an excellent plasma monitor at a great price. I know you'll be enjoying this unit for years to come.
