JVC 42 inch plasma TV PD-42V475 Reviewed

HDTV has entered a new age with JVC's 42 inch HDTV plasma TV, model PD-42V475. This model boasts an outstanding 3000:1 contrast ratio, better than most of the other models at this price point. Other models with this level of contrast ration start at about $3,700, but the JVC model is value priced at about $2,300.

The PD-42V475 also supports multi-channel previews, although it does require a second tuner unit to enable this feature. A VCR is usually sufficient. This model also features JVC's proprietary High Definition Range Digital Super D High End Edge Correction Circuitry.

For the layman, the colors are bright and intense, but fully customizable with the settings available. Resetting the color temperature and the video status settings to your taste is simple, and you may want to experiment with different settings for different applications.

This unit's factory sound system is impressive with 2 Direct Drive slim side speakers and an integrated subwoofer. The sounds are deep and the basses are true, providing a very realistic sound experience.
